Tania Gorry from Whole Warrior Solutions

Q: Tell us about Whole warrior Solutions

Whole Warrior Solutions was created in 2018 to provide for support coordination and has evolved to provide counselling, recovery coaching and community development.

I had been an independent support co-ordinator, however, my circumstances changed when my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

This prompted me to go back to my roots of providing coaching support and counselling.

As I was trying to develop my business I found there was a need for providers to be able to interact with one another as well as with recipients. I started the NDIS Network with the goal of Connecting non-registered & registered NDIS providers, participants and carers.

Within the NDIS Network, I especially love supporting sole trader and start-ups to champion them in their small business ventures.

Since starting the NDIS Network, I have found that there has been a real need and as a result I am excited to be rolling out the group nationally and rolling out events nationally.

Q: What does Whole Warrior Solutions provide?

The fundamental business is counselling and recovery coaching as well as life coaching

I also provide clinical support for providers where I provide counselling services for the employees who work within the ‘care’ network.

Apart from the core roles within the Whole Warrior Solutions brand I have diversified to create the NDIS Network which I see as my community development project, where I like to connect, provider (both registered and unregistered with the NDIS), participants and carers with each other.

Q: How do you work with the NDIS to assist your customers?

I have been involved with NGOs and public service for many years, as a result I am a strong advocate for the NDIS body and the code of conduct they advocate for the registered as well as unregistered providers. I also had a former corporate marketing career and draw on those skills to support start up providers to network.

Q: What was the catalyst for you starting Whole Warrior Solutions and NDIS Network?

God. It is personal as I am a survivor of trauma. I had to be able to heal myself to heal others. On the back of my own healing journey, I had a vision where by I would be able to coordinate support for vulnerable people.

Whole Warrior Solutions was birthed as I believe in a holistic solution for assisting people to heal and give all glory to God.

The name Whole Warrior Solutions was chosen as:

Whole – the counselling that I provide will involve all aspects of one’s emotional, spiritual as well as physical well-being.

Warrior - as I believe that everyone who survives trauma and or lives with a disability is a warrior.

Solutions - as I believe my practice is solution focused. I believe my clients have the solutions within and that I am one catalyst for their healing journey.

The NDIS Network was birthed from my desire to connect with providers and participants to support one another.

Q: What are Whole Warrior Solutions important differentiating factors for people?

For me I believe it is my lived experience and work experience. I have done 20 years as a front-line worker.

I have aimed to get a well-rounded experience in welfare, from disability, to homelessness, children and youth, aged care to abuse. It is my lived and work experience that allow me to provide holistic counselling services through Whole Warrior Solutions.

I also know a lot about court processes, I have worked in the Joint Investigation Response Team (JIRT) which is a specialist branch of child protection. As a result, I know the signs of abuse and neglect and am able to assist those who have experienced this.

Q: Where do you see Whole Warrior Solutions and NDIS Network in the future?

Whole Warrior Solutions

My main goal is to help heal the wounded so that they can live a good life and increase their functioning within the community.

NDIS Networking

I see my groups empowering communities to be able to make ethical referrals. To help support small business start ups and to help these businesses develop and grow ethically.

I believe that the two arms of my business create a real balance for me. The NDIS networking helps to channel my creative side whilst the Whole Warrior Solutions channels my empathy fuelled personality.
